Larry White becomes 29th President of AWMAC!
We invite you to join us in officially welcoming our new AWMAC President, Larry White! Following the 48th Annual General Meeting held June 2, 2017 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Larry White became the 29th person to become President of the Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada (AWMAC). Larry now replaces Carlo DeFrancesco, who remains with us as Past President.
Based in Calgary, Alberta, Larry has been in the woodworking industry since 1985 and is the Sales Manager at Upper Canada Forest Products in Calgary. Larry brings with him a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to AWMAC. He has been an Associate Member with the Southern Alberta (SAB) Chapter since 2001, has sat on SAB’s Board as a Director, Secretary, Treasurer and President, joined the National Board of Directors in 2008 and became National’s Vice-President in 2015.
Larry also sits on National’s Executive, Inter-Association Relations, Policy and Procedures and Membership Compliance Committees wherein he is initiating his focus on unified policy and procedural alignment across Canada and education to members, architects, designers, students and the public.
Larry refereed for the Calgary Minor Hockey Referee’s Association and has coached Calgary minor hockey previously for 17 years. In Larry’s free time, golf, his wife Maureen, and two children win his attention (listed in no particular order). For those that attended the 2017 President’s Gala in Winnipeg, you will also know from Larry’s improv appearance, he loves Star Trek and honesty is both his greatest strength and weakness.
We are extremely excited to have Larry on board and look forward to a year of positive change and continued growth. Welcome Larry!
